Using Affiliate Programs to Generate Internet Income

Using affiliate programs to earn income on the internet is nothing new.  I have been doing it since 2002.  Back then, a lot of the resources available to internet marketers today weren't available to me.  Social networking sites like FaceBook and Twitter are prime examples.  Utilizing these two marketing resources alone can go a long way when it comes to promoting your affiliate programs.

Another great promotional resource is the use of blogs.  If you do a search for affiliate program blogs or affiliate marketing blogs you will find a large number that accept comments.  This allows you to leave a link with your comment.  The link can be to your website or an affiliate program you are promoting...the choice is yours... but be smart about it.  Simply leaving a comment like "great site" or "nice blog" won't do the trick.  Most blogs are moderated and comments like these would be considered spam and will quickly be deleted.  Read the entire post and make a comment that will be of  benefit to other readers.  This way, you will have a much better chance of getting your comments accepted by the moderator.
 
 

Earning a Living using Affiliate Programs

One thing I have learned over the years when it comes to affiliate program promotion is there are no shortcuts to success.  You have to work at it in order to reap the rewards.  There are numerous products out there that allow you to post to blogs automatically but I wouldn't recommend using these.  Lets face it, if you have a web site and you end up with hundreds of links back to your site within days, most of them irelevant to your sites content, it would look very suspicious to a search engine like Google.  You could end up getting your site delisted altogether.  When it comes to promoting your affiliate programs using blog comments, slow and steady is the way to go.  Every blog link to your website or affiliate program doesn't have to be relevant to your sites content.  Mix it up a bit so it looks more natural.
 
 

Using Articles to Promote Your Affiliate Programs

Another great resource to boost your affiliate program income is the use of articles.  If you write a decent article and submit it to some of the top article sites like ezinearticles.com, you will have no trouble getting your article accepted for publication.  When your article is published, the article site will allow you to have a resource box at the end of your article.  Here you can place a link back to your website or one of the affiliate programs you are promoting.  Again, I have to caution you about using software to submit your articles...it is much better to manually submit your articles to a few of the top sites rather than use an auto submit program.

Once you have submitted your articles to several of the top article sites, you will find that they will quickly spread over the the internet due to other people adding them to their sites.  This will provide you with even more links back to your own site or the affiliate program you are promoting.  Be sure to check from time to time to see how many sites have picked up your article by entering the title of your article in the search box of Google or any other search engine you want to use.  Use quotation marks around your title when doing the search in order to get an exact match.
